Film Music Festival in Cracow

On 25-28 September in Cracow will be held the Film Music Festival. This year the program will be filled with four big productions:

  • Polish-Norwegian co-production Kon-Tiki
  • Deep Sea Expedition (Johan Söderqvist)
  • Song from the James Bond movies performed by Polish celebrities and entertainment orchestra,
  • five Academy Awards winner:  Gladiator live in concert , music by Hans Zimmer. Starring Lisa Gerrard.

On the last day of the festival at the Cracow Philharmonic Hall will happen a special concert where the FMF Youth Orchestra will perform works by Maciej Zielinski. The Orchestra consists of students of Cracow's music schools. They will perform some fragments of suit from the TV series titled "Crime Detectives" (Kryminalni) by Zielinski and his music from the movies: "Never Ever", "Why not", "Just Love Me". Apart from Maciej Zielinski’s music the program will contain works by Wojciech Kilar and Hollywood composers. The concert will be held in the framework of the project FMF Kids " Serious Youth".

The composer will also participate in Industry panel: 'film music on the Polish market' which will take place on 26 of September 2014 at 10.00, at Małopolska Garden of Arts in Cracow.

  • Maciej Zielinski is one of the five nominees for the “FRYDERYK 2012” Award. The other nominees include K. Penderecki and W. Kilar.

  • “Barocode I” and “Duo per Due” at the anniversary concert of the Second Channel of the Polish Radio

  • Premiere of the "V Symphony" at the Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio at 7:00 p.m. on January  29th.

  • Christmas television concert at the Mariacki Church. Maciej Zielinski’s “Rejoice, The Holy Virgin” performed by Aukso and Camerata Silesia

  • “Lutoslawski in Memoriam” for oboe and piano and “Shining II” for string orchestra, performed at the Warsaw Autumn Festival 2011.

  • 11.02.2011. Premiere of double album “Sounds of Love” with beautiful love themes by Maciej Zielinski

  • Premiere of the album with the soundtrack for “Oh Charles 2” directed by Piotr Wereśniak

  • The new film by Piotr Weresniak titled “Oh Charles 2”, with music by Maciej Zielinski, will be released on January the 21st, 2011.
