Maciej Zielinski will be a guest of the Presteigne Festival in Wales

Maciej Zielinski at Presteigne FestivalPresteigne Festival is one of the biggest festivals of contemporary music in England. This year's edition will be held between 21 and 26 August. George Vass, artistic director of the festival included a large part of Polish music this year. The programme contains  works of such composers as Andrzej Panufnik, Witold Lutoslawski, Grazyna Bacewicz , Krzysztof Penderecki, Pawel Lukaszewski and many others. There will be three concerts of  Maciej Zielinski’s compositions:

• 08/23/2014 Lutoslawski in memoriam for oboe and piano (Ilid Jones - oboe, Richard Uttley - piano)

• 25/08/2014 Trio for M. B. for clarinet, violin and cello (Kate Romano - clarinet, Benjamin Nabarro - violin, Gemma Rosefield - Cello)

• 26/08/2014 Concello for cello and string orchestra (Gemma Rosefield - Cello, Presteigne Festival Orchestra, dir. George Vass)

Concello for cello and string orchestra will appear at the final concert of the festival. This is one of the latest works by the composer and it will be the UK’s premiere.

• 26.08.2014 at 7pm will happen a meeting with Maciej Zielinski - conducted by renowned English musicologist specialized in Polish music - Adrian Thomas.
